The MICROCHECK service will help you take the guess work out of milk quality management using new qPCR technology and traditional culture methods. Our Mastitis ID service detects the DNA of mastitis pathogens in individual cows. In addition to the detection of mastitis pathogens, our Plant Hygiene service uses traditional culture methods to assess levels of bacteria in the milk, relating to high Bactoscan results in bulk samples. The Bacto Breakdown service combines the Mastitis ID and the Plant Hygiene services to give you an overall look at milk management on farm.

Bacto Breakdown is the combination of both the Mastitis ID and the Plant Hygiene services.
Results can be reported by fax, post or email or through Micro Monitor on the Herd Companion website. If you require a username and password for Herd Companion, please contact customer services on 0844 7255567. PCR results are usually available the same day that the sample reaches the laboratory. Culture results are available within five days of the sample reaching the laboratory.
With a signed permission form, results can be faxed to the consulting veterinary surgeon for more detailed, farm specific interpretation.
