Coliforms

An indicator of bacterial contamination from milking equipment or coliform mastitis.

Thermodurics

Indicative of inadequate plant cleaning.

Pyschotrophs

These bacteria grow at refrigeration temperatures and suggest poor bulk tank cleaning and/or inadequate milk cooling.

Total Viable Count (TVC)

This indicates the number of bacteria able to multiply in the milk.
