Tag and test
Tag and test is a service available for BVD testing in cattle from Nordic Star and NML. An ear tag is inserted into the ear of animals of ANY age (even from birth). On insertion, the tag cuts a disc of tissue and seals it into a small tube which disconnects after the event. Both tube and tag display an identification number. Results
Results can be posted or emailed to you and your vet (where authorisation has been given) within 5 days.
Tag options
Both management tags (Fig. 2) and DEFRA-approved statutory tags (Fig.1) are available through NML. The latter can be used in place of your standard calf identification tags as they come with a secondary tag of your choice.
